Signs It Might Be Time to Start Therapy

Like most things in life, therapy doesn't come with a simple checklist to determine if you need it. That being said, there are some common signs that it could be something you'd benefit from. Often, these signs may not feel out of the ordinary to the person experiencing them because they may not realize that they don’t need to feel a certain way regularly. That's why today we’re sharing a few signs that, if experienced frequently, might indicate that it's time for you to start therapy.

Experiencing Intense Changes in Emotion
If you suddenly feel like your emotions are more intense than usual or outside the norm—if your mood can change quickly or lead to frequent outbursts—or if you feel like you're losing control over your emotions, this could be a sign that therapy might help.

Life Feels Overwhelming and Scary
Occasional anxiety is normal, but when anxiety becomes your dominant emotion, making it hard to enjoy life or get through your day-to-day routine, it’s a different story. This can also include a racing mind, recurring or intrusive thoughts, or constant worries that seem to lurk in the background. When you’re constantly feeling this way, even simple tasks can become overwhelming or scary.
